Sun Screens work by stopping the sun’s rays before they hit the glass (Sun hitting glass will produce about 230 BTU’s per square foot of glass) – this is how heat gain in the room is reduced. The U.S. Department of Energy says in a study that shading the outside of exposed windows or doors is the best way to stop heat build-up (http://www.eere.energy.gov). The Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Clearinghouse says that roughly 50% of heat gain and heat loss is through windows and doors inside of your home. External shading is the most effective home treatment to counter these effects. Shading the exposed windows and doors with sun screens can reduce room temperatures by as much as 20 degrees.
Other products have drawbacks: window film or window tints cannot be removed, sometimes bubble up in the heat and will most likely void window manufacturers warranties; interior solar window shadings such as indoor window film or blinds or insulated drapes do not block, reflect or absorb the solar rays before they pass through the glass, allowing heat build-up and uncomfortable room temperatures.
SunBlox Solar Screens block sunlight before it hits windows and enters the building. By blocking up to 90% of the sun’s harmful UV rays, Sun Screens reduce temperatures in rooms by as much as 20 degrees, providing you with savings of up to 25% -30% on summer cooling bills. They allow ventilation and privacy and act as insect screens too. Sun Screens can be easily removed for the winter months.
Certainly, if people knew the savings potential in their monthly electric bills, the extended life of their A/C system, as well as enhanced comfort of their homes, it would become a standard in all
SunBlox™ Solar Screens also have many commercial applications.
Several shading fabrics of this sun control product offer varying degrees of heat reduction and privacy.

On February 2, 2008 SunBlox completed the installation of solar screens on the NCG Medical Building in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
d by as much as 20+ degrees Fahrenheit. The season is winter, and this proved to be a substantial drop in just the first few days of February. Historically, we know from other temperature checks in residential and commercial properties that the temperature drop is far more substantial in the summer months - as much as 40 degrees Fahrenheit temperature drop is common!Keith and Simon,
I just wanted to let you know how happy we are with our SunBlox screens. We had them installed in the summer of 2007 and noticed a nice reduction in our electric bill this summer. But the comfort level in those rooms was even better! Those rooms used to get blasted with the afternoon sun and now they are much cooler, not to mention more private, as it is harder to see in from the outside . They are also easy to remove for window cleaning and re-attach.
Thank you so much for a great product!

We are very pleased with your product of SunBlox solar screens for our home. It is truly amazing how we struggled with bright sunlight and heat in our family room that faces due West. After you installed the screens we have seen a big difference. It's so nice now to keep our shades up and enjoy the golf course view.
Many thanks for your product and quick installation. Would recommend your product to anyone.
Sincerely,
LPGA International
We had a room that was 10-15 degrees warmer than the rest of the house with a 36 square foot double paned glass window that faced west. As an engineer I was looking for a product that would reduce the heat gain in that room and look good.
Once the SunBlox screen was installed the room temperature dropped to the same as the rest of the house. Nothing else was changed and the screen performed well. The look was great too. If you didn't know that there was a screen in place you would never know it from the outside or inside. The grids matched the window perfectly and installation was quick and easy.
My thanks to Keith and Simon who were very helpful and professional. I would recommend this product to anyone seeking to reduce heat gain through windows and I have. Since mine was installed several neighbors and friends have also had SunBlox screens installed on their homes.

After doing some tree trimming along the back of our house during the spring time which is the portion of our home that is our family room, on the inside. During the summer months, the room became quite warm and the air conditioning was having trouble cooling the room. We tried a number of things that proved not to work as well as the trees.
I really believe that they are a big help and would recommend them to anyone that is having trouble controlling the temperatures within their home. They also, look very attractive from the outside, as they provide an added architectural look to the existing windows in the home. They appear to be very easy to install as installation only takes a couple of minutes. We had the SunTex 90 installed and there is a noticeable difference with the light that is emitted into the room, but that is not necessary a negative.
Therefore, I am pleased to give a thumbs up for their product!

I LOVE IT !! I have been telling others about it actually. Let me think of something ....
A western exposure brought extensive afternoon heat to my living room. Not only did this create higher cooling expenses, it caused fading of the living room fabrics which were in line with the sun's rays. The installation of SunBlox over the windows solved both issues immediately. The living area is now useable in afternoons.
Living in a homeowner's association it was important there be no outward appearance of an installation having been made. And there isn't. The window appears to have an ordinary screen and wouldn't be noticible to someone not looking for it.
SunBlox is not expensive and I strongly encourage its use for anyone with direct sun exposure.

I was impressed from my very first contact with SunBlox. After seeing them on the
Several months later, I had a slight problem with the installation. I called and SunBlox said they would return to fix the problem on Wednesday. I was amazed as I called late in the afternoon on Monday to report the problem. True to his word, he arrived Wednesday morning to repair the installation problem. It required making part of a new screen. No cost. There was never any argument about who or what caused the problem; just a pleasant attitude and a quick repair!
Not only did I receive excellent customer satisfaction, my new screen makes my exercise/computer room sooo much more comfortable without me losing the view! I love the added benefit of having privacy from my neighbors.
I could not be happier!

What Others Say
"It is far better, for heat gain prevention, to block the sunlight before it reaches the window, thereby dissipating the absorbed heat outside where it can be carried away by the air currents. This means that simple shade trees and other exterior shading methods can be very effective, both in saving air cooling energy and in blocking the strong glare which direct sunlight can produce if allowed inside."
"If the homeowner is considering window film, it is important to realize that some window manufacturers void their warranties if window films are applied to their products. The main reason is that most window films accomplish their solar glare reduction by absorbing solar radiation inside the film, causing it to heat up. Some of the heat in the film will conduct to the glass on which it is applied, causing this glass to expand. If it expands enough, stresses can build up in the window and cause it to fail, most often through a shattering of the glass."
